Amputee girls, Gaining strength, courage, My journey
I remember the day I lost my arm; it was a dark summer night when the car accident happened. I was a young girl, just 13 at the time and I had no idea how to cope with the changes that were happening. The physical pain was only a fraction of what I felt; I was in emotional pain as well. Losing my arm was traumatic and it hurt me deeply.
When I was a young girl, I had my entire life ahead of me. That was before I experienced a life-changing accident that resulted in the amputation of my right leg. At first, I was scared, unsure of my future and how I would cope. But something changed as I started to heal.
